Patriotic Emblem

Kenneth Chambers, 86, was born to Marguerite and John Chambers on 7/28/30 in Akron, Ohio.
Ken passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, 3/6/17. March was his favorite month to celebrate his Irish heritage. We will always remember the twinkle in his blue eyes.
Ken served proudly in the United States Army in active duty in the Korean War. After his service, he had various construction jobs in Utah and Arizona. He owned Shamrock Construction in Salt Lake City, Utah before moving the business to Arizona. He has spent the last forty years as a Real Estate Agent in the Scottsdale area primarily with Ranch Realty. He also worked in construction during down real estate years, as it was in his blood. He was most comfortable on a construction site teaching crews and operating heavy equipment. He was very well read and absorbed history books and all things political. He enjoyed all of his real estate clients and always went above and beyond to help make a deal.
He was an avid sports fan; he loved major league baseball and loved college basketball and football. He was especially fond of boxing. He relaxed with music, listening to classical and opera.
Ken is survived by his wife Jeannette Chambers.
Ken is survived by his four loving children from his first marriage: Dan (Mary) Chambers of Gilbert, AZ, Steve (Meg) Chambers of Ogden, UT, Colleen Taylor (Jim) of La Verne, CA, and Cathy Killian (A.J.) of Sacramento, CA. He is survived by his wife's children that he loved, Terri Avery (Brad) of Sandy, UT, Larry Hansen of Phoenix, AZ, Julie Jones of Phoenix, AZ, and Shelly Weindel of Queen Creek, AZ. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Jeffrey Scott Sorenson (Sandra) of Virginia. He is survived by 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Ken was preceded in death by his brother Donald Chambers, and sister, Mary Jo Cook.
A special thanks to his Ranch Realty family for all their support, all the caregivers that so touched his life to make him comfortable in the end, especially his care team, from Arizona Palliative, and Hospice of the Valley, the last few months.
His Irish eyes will be shining down and we will be wearin' o' the green at his graveside memorial that will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024 on Friday, 4/28/17 at 2:30 p.m.
Remembrances can be made in his honor to the Disabled Veterans of America https://www.dav.org/ways-to-give/ or the Hutch Fund through the Scottsdale Area Association of Realtors http://scottsdalerealtors.org/benefits/hutch-fund/
A celebration of life will follow the service.
